Mineral oil based "super clean" hydraulic fluid for use with general aviation brake, hydraulic, and autopilot systems with synthetic rubber seals. Meets newer MIL-H-5606G and MIL-PRF-5606H specifications. Replaces AeroShell Fluid 4, which only meets the obsolete MIL-H-5606A standard. Dyed red. Ships in one gallon metal cans that are not resealable.
AeroShell Fluid 41 is a mineral oil-based "super clean" hydraulic fluid manufactured containing an oxidation inhibitor and a non-zinc anti-wear additive. It is dyed red for identification and leak detection purposes. It may be used in aviation and industrial hydraulic systems where very low temperature flow properties are desired, synthetic rubber seals are in use, and "super clean" solid particle contaminant standards are required. It is not recommended for systems using natural rubber seals. Additionally, metal de-activators and foam inhibitors are included in this high viscosity index fluid to enhance performance in hydraulic applications.
AeroShell Fluid 41 is capable of a wide range of useful temperature operation:
- Unpressurized range is -54C to +90C
- Pressurized range -54C to +135C
AeroShell Fluid 41 is intended as a hydraulic fluid in all modern aircraft applications where MIL-H-5606 requires a mineral hydraulic fluid. It is particularly recommended where use of a "super clean" fluid can contribute to improvements in component reliability.
AeroShell Fluid 41 should be used in systems with synthetic rubber components and must not be used in systems incorporating natural rubber.
AeroShell Fluid 41 is compatible with AeroShell Fluids 4, 31, 51, 61, 71, Shock Strut Fluid (SSF), and Landing Gear Fluid (LGF).
Chlorinated solvents should not be used for cleaning hydraulic components which use AeroShell Fluid 41. The residual solvent contaminates the hydraulic fluid and may lead to corrosion.
- Superior low temperature flowability
